What Makes Hộ Quốc Pagoda Special
Hộ Quốc Pagoda is one of the largest and most visually striking Buddhist temples in Kiên Giang province, built into a forested hillside on Phú Quốc's northeastern coast. The complex rises in tiers from the base of the hill to a upper sanctuary with panoramic views over the Gulf of Thailand - a dramatic setting that makes it one of the island's most rewarding cultural stops, even for travelers not interested in Buddhism.

The complex is large and spread across several levels connected by wide staircases. The lower section has the main worship halls, gardens, and a large reclining Buddha.
