What Makes Hàm Tiến Beach Special

Hàm Tiến Beach occupies the northern arc of the Mũi Né peninsula coastline, between the busy resort strip to the south and the fishing village at the cape. Unlike the more developed sections of Mũi Né, Hàm Tiến retains a quieter character - the beach is wide and long, the sand shifts between pale gold and rust-red depending on the light, and the horizon is open water all the way to the South China Sea. The beach sits within Bình Thuận province, one of the sunniest regions in Vietnam with over 300 days of sunshine per year, which makes the coastline here reliably good for beach visits even outside the peak dry season. The combination of consistent onshore winds and well-shaped waves has made the broader Mũi Né area one of Southeast Asia's top kitesurfing and windsurfing destinations - Hàm Tiến is part of that same coastline.

🚗 Getting There

Hàm Tiến Beach runs along the coastal road (Nguyễn Đình Chiểu) north of central Mũi Né town. From Phan Thiết city centre, take the coastal road east toward Mũi Né - Hàm Tiến begins approximately 10km from Phan Thiết and extends for several kilometres along the cape. By motorbike from Phan Thiết, 20–25 minutes. From Mũi Né resort area, Hàm Tiến is the beachfront immediately in front of and north of the main resort strip - walkable along the beach or a short motorbike ride along the coastal road.

👀 On the Ground

The beach at Hàm Tiến is wide and relatively uncrowded compared to the main Mũi Né resort strip. Fishing boats are often pulled up on the sand - the working beach culture sits alongside the resort development in a way that is increasingly rare on Vietnam's more developed coastlines. The water is warm year-round, typically 27–29°C, and the sea here is clear enough for swimming during the calm season. The red sand cliffs that characterise the Mũi Né area are visible at the northern end of the beach, giving the coastline a distinctive landscape unlike anything else in southern Vietnam.

🧳 Tips

Hàm Tiến is best visited as part of a broader Mũi Né stay rather than as a day trip in isolation - the beach rewards slow time rather than a quick visit. The coastal road that runs behind the beach connects all the major points of interest in the area: the fishing village to the north, the fairy stream, and the sand dunes further inland. Motorbike is the best way to navigate between them. For accommodation, staying directly on the Hàm Tiến beachfront gives quieter access to the sand than the denser resort strip further south.

Based on real traveler experiences and commonly mentioned advice from multiple visitors.

Visit early morning for calmest water and peaceful atmosphere with fewer crowds
Bring cash for freshwater shower facilities at cafes (20,000-50,000 VND per person)
Wear sun protection; very little natural shade except near resort areas
The beach is best in the early morning before the wind picks up - by midday the onshore breeze can make umbrellas difficult to manage
Hàm Tiến sits north of the main Mũi Né resort strip - walk south along the beach to reach the fishing village, or north toward the fairy stream
The water here is generally calmer than the exposed southern beaches - good for swimming from November to March when the swell is low
Avoid the stretch directly in front of the larger resorts if you want a quieter experience - the public beach sections between resorts are less crowded
Sunrise here is exceptional - the beach faces east and the early light on the sand and fishing boats is one of the best photography moments on the coast
