Hòa Bình Province

Hòa Bình is the gateway to Vietnam's northwest highlands - just 75km from Hanoi, it offers the closest authentic mountain minority experience to the capital. Mai Châu valley is one of Vietnam's most beloved rural escapes, where White Thai families welcome guests into stilthouse homestays surrounded by rice paddies and limestone peaks. The Hòa Bình Reservoir, created by one of Southeast Asia's largest hydroelectric dams, adds a dramatic lake landscape to an already scenic province.
