Bac Kan Province

Bac Kan is one of Vietnam's least-visited provinces, and that's its greatest asset. Nestled in the northeastern mountains, it's home to Ba Be Lake - Vietnam's largest natural freshwater lake and one of the most beautiful in Southeast Asia. Ancient forests, limestone karst, and Tay ethnic minority villages surround the lake on all sides. If you want to experience northern Vietnam completely off the tourist trail, Bac Kan is it.
